We met in the summer of 2012 while working together at a Vermont State Park. We soon found out that we had both grown up in nearby towns, graduated from the University of Vermont, and worked at the same ski area the year before! This lead to our first date with a nature walk, some good beer, a picnic, and a movie. Since then we've shared a mutual love of adventure and our travels have taken us to Acadia National Park, Quebec City, the US Virgin Islands, New Zealand, and more! In 2015, we adopted our beloved rescue pup, Finn. We currently live in a beautiful little town in Vermont. Richard is a math and science teacher at Killington Mountain School and Michelle works in workforce development for the Vermont Department of Labor. We're so excited to celebrate our wedding with all our friends and family in Vermont! We got engaged in New Zealand on New Year's Day, 2018. The proposal took place on a beautiful, isolated beach after a death-defying drive on gravel, cliffside roads and some free-range sheep dodging. We got engaged with a kiss on a rocky shore with some seals for company (see our picture above). Following the proposal we had dinner in the French town of Akaroa and toured a penguin colony that night.
